Jewell Henkel nee Whitwell, 83 of St. Clair formerly of St. Louis passed away Monday, February 15, 2010 at home.
Mrs. Henkel, daughter of the late Erwin Whitwell and wife Gladys nee McCauley was born September 16, 1926 in Doniphan, Missouri.
On October 6, 1951 she was united in marriage to Oliver Henkel in St. Louis.
She was preceded in death by her husband Oliver Henkel; her parents, Erwin and Gladys Whitwell and one sister, Wanda Walker.
Mrs. Henkel is survived by two sons, Robert Henkel and wife Kathy of St. Clair and Stephen Henkel and wife Judith of House Springs; thirteen grandchildren, Jenny Henkel, Rachel Henkel, Rebecca Henkel, Amy Henkel, Emily Henkel, Christopher Henkel, Nicholas Henkel, Sarah Henkel, Megan Henkel, Karis Henkel, Terrell Henkel, Ray Henkel and Onna Henkel; nieces, nephews, great nieces; great nephews; other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held 10:00 to 12:00 noon on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at Midlawn Funeral Home, Union. Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at Midlawn Funeral Home, Union with Robert Henkel officiating. Interment will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
Memorial donations to Believers Bible Chapel 2032 Hwy 50 Union, MO 63084 are preferred.
