Herschel Smith, 59 of St. Clair passed away Sunday, February 7, 2010 at his home.

Mr. Smith, son of the late Franklin Smith and wife Ruth nee Palmer was born December 14, 1950 in Bridgeton, Missouri.

On July 3, 1999 he was united in marriage to Mary Smith in Union, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents Franklin and Ruth Smith; his niece, Shari Aleshire.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Mary Smith; two sons, Troy Jones and wife Kathy of Bourbon and Ron Jones and wife Tammy of Owensville; three daughters, Crystal Bruns and husband Joshua of Georgia, Amber Smith and husband Justin of California and Laura Jones and husband David of Lonedell; one brother, Franklin Smith and wife Evelyn of Texas; five sisters, Mable Putz and husband Joe of California, Pauline Krechel and husband Bob of Lake Ozark, Betty Shell and husband Kevin of Cape Girardeau, Pat Presley and husband Don of St. Clair and Virginia Hunt and companion Dave Hemker of St. Clair; eighteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at Midlawn Funeral Home, Union. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at Midlawn Funeral Home, Union with Pastor Glen Hammond officiating. Interment at Midlawn Memorial Gardens, Union.

Memorial donations to the family are preferred.
