Brenda Garcia nee Barrett, 61 of Villa Ridge went home to be with the Lord November 23, 2009.

Mrs. Garcia daughter of the late Butler Barrett and wife Maudie nee Welch was born May 4, 1948 in Portageville, Missouri.

On February 25, 1967 she was united in marriage to Theodore Garcia in East St. Louis, Illinois.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Villa Ridge.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters, Marie Halbert, Wanda Campbell, Nelda Thompson, Gestle Green and Vivan Barrett; one brother, Elvis Barrett; one granddaughter, Cindy Etta Garcia.

Mrs. Garcia is survived by her husband, Theodore “Ted” Garcia of Villa Ridge; two sons, Patrick Garcia and wife Becky of Willard, MO and Travis Garcia and wife Tracy of Villa Ridge; one daughter, Tammy Garcia of Union; two brothers, Cleatus Barrett of O’Fallon, MO and Estle Barrett of Florissant; two sisters, Barbara Bigelow of Vandalia, MO and Ovilla Muller of Troy; six grandchildren, Nick Garcia, Emily Garcia, Brandon Gracia, Caleb Garcia, Marcelina Lettieri and Alexander Garcia; other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at the First Baptist Church of Villa Ridge. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at the First Baptist Church of Villa Ridge with Pastor Roger Johnson officiating. Interment at Brush Creek Cemetery.
